The county was founded in 1831.
It is named for John Page, Governor of Virginia from 1802 to 1805.

NOTE - A person must visit between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 P.M EST on Monday - Friday to obtain records in person in Page County. If a person wishes to obtain documents, they must bring some form of photo identification. Examples contain state IDs or driver's licenses. A person must also put their request in writing in Page County.
